Cambodia has planted over a hundred landmines within Thailand! Thailand will file a protest with the United Nations!

Major General Boonsing of the Second Army Corps stated on July 19 that after inspection, it was found that Cambodia had deployed more than a hundred landmines along the border.

The Second Army Corps will report the detailed situation to the Army Operations Center, which will then submit a report to the government, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will protest Cambodia's violation of the Ottawa Convention to the United Nations.

Currently, all the landmines found by the Thai military along the border are newly placed ones. The placement points are about 100-150 meters from the Cambodian military deployment line, located within Thai territory. The Thai military will completely remove these landmines. It is estimated that there may be as many as hundreds of remaining landmines.

In response to Cambodia's questioning whether the landmines might have been planted by Thailand itself, Major General Boonsing denied this, stating that such a claim is unrealistic. Planting landmines requires going through one's own military front lines and needs approval from the commander of the Thai forces. No commanding officer would be foolish enough to plant landmines on their own side. The landmines definitely came from the other side, and Cambodia's denial is just its usual excuse.

After analysis, it is likely that Cambodia planted the landmines before the adjustment of forces at the border passage on May 28. Major General Boonsing stated that these landmines were placed on Thai territory, clearly indicating that the other side infiltrated during the withdrawal of Thai patrol forces.

At present, there is no need to evacuate civilians. The Thai military will clear all landmines along the border, build covered roads, and urge the troops to act more carefully.
