[Source/Observer Network, Xiong Chaoying] From his campaign to taking office, U.S. President Donald Trump continuously promoted his so-called "America First" policy. However, now, an interview by a spokesperson from his government's diplomatic department has exposed the hypocrisy of such propaganda...
On June 22nd local time, American independent journalist Ken Klippenstein posted a video clip of an interview by U.S. State Department spokesperson Tammy Bruce with Israeli media i24 News on the X platform. This interview took place a month ago, and some controversial content is now being re-examined.
In the interview, Bruce discussed her connection with Judaism, U.S. foreign policy, and Trump. When talking about working at the State Department, she said: "I'm really proud to work here, creating better lives for people in this greatest country on Earth, second only to Israel."
After saying this, Bruce seemed to immediately realize she had made a controversial statement, quickly stuck out her tongue, and continued to clarify: "It’s an honor to have something to say in this regard, and I really like this administration, it's truly an honor."

Klippenstein reposted the video clip, which quickly sparked discussions among many social media users. This happened as tensions escalated in the Middle East due to ongoing mutual attacks between Israel and Iran, with the U.S. recently militarily intervening by launching airstrikes on three key nuclear facilities in Iran.
Someone retweeted Klippenstein's post and succinctly summarized the essence of Bruce's remarks during the interview — "America First, but after Israel."

Others posted memes in the comments section — America First, but Israel First.

"Tammy Bruce said that America is 'the second greatest country on Earth after Israel,' which confirms that the State Department's policies prioritize Israel."
"Second only to Israel? The country that charges the U.S. billions of dollars to support the Gulf War and 'Operation Iraqi Freedom'?"
"Israel? That despicable little country steals Palestinian land and is currently carrying out genocide???"

A netizen @ed President Trump, Vice President Vance, and Secretary of State Rubio, writing: "This is disgusting. She should be fired. I’m sick of some of you putting Israel first! Now we even have MIGA (Make Israel Great Again)! This isn’t what I voted for!"

Another netizen defended Bruce, saying: "Isn't i24 news an Israeli TV channel? Isn't this context clearly showing that Bruce was just flattering the host? What kind of scumbag would omit the context to intentionally distort her meaning?"

However, this comment was quickly replied to by another user: "Why are you defending someone who should be loyal to America, saying another country is better than us?"
While these netizens were debating whether America was "great," two of them wrote:
"America is not the greatest country, far from it. Measured by what? Poverty rate? Life expectancy? Income inequality? Gun violence? Happiness? Quality of life? In many of these metrics, America doesn't even make the top 20 globally."
"Girls, your child gets shot at school, diabetics die because they can't afford $500 (about RMB 3600) insulin. There’s nothing ‘great’ about America."
